Edward Allen Hewes, died January 17, 2018. He was born December 14, 1933 in Bangor the son of Herbert and Hazel Hewes.
Ed was a graduate of Bangor High School, class of 1952. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and served during the war in Korea. Ed was a 46 year member of Rising Virtue Lodge No. 10 AF &AM of Bangor, a member of Maine Consistory 32 degree since 1972, Bangor Brewer Shrine Club and Anah Shriners where he was a member of the Second Section. Ed was a life member of the Bangor Lodge of Elks #244 and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3177 of Brewer.
He is survived by the one he married, Constance (McCain) Hewes, 60 years ago on June 22, 1957; two sons Richard A. Hewes of Bangor, Randall E. Hewes of Hermon; Randy’s two daughters Megan Hewes of Bangor and Melanie Hewes of Carmel and her partner Jonathan Williams; two great grandchildren Brayden and his sister Karly of Carmel.
A special thank you to the ambulance crew that worked so hard to save his life and transport him to EMMC and the EMMC crew.
It was Ed’s wishes not to have a memorial service .
